项目摘要

今年度は主に有権者と議員との関係について，これまで行ってきた様々な研究のアウトプットを行った。まず，中選挙区制がもたらすインセンティヴについて複数の研究を行った。一つ目の研究は中選挙区制のもとでの有権者の合理的な投票戦略の理論的な分析である。この成果は国際研究集会にて報告された。また，それに対応した政治家の選挙戦略についての分析も行った。具体的には，55年体制の下で国政選挙において政治家が地方政治家を利用することで有権者を動員するという現象についての実証分析を行った。その結果，ある町村における地方政治家が多くなるほど長期政権を維持していた自民党の絶対得票率が多くなるという因果効果が明らかになった。この研究成果は日本比較政治学会等で報告された。昨年度から分析を進めていた研究である，一票の格差が選挙結果にまで影響するという研究は国際学会にて報告し，多くのフィードバックを得た。政治家と営利企業との関係を分析した研究では，衆議院議員がどの株式会社・有限会社の役員にいつ就任し，いつ辞任したのかを追跡するオリジナルなデータセットを構築した。このデータセットは政治家によって提出された「関連会社等報告書」から得られた情報を基に企業の登記情報を取得することによって作られた。このデータセットを用いた研究成果は国際学会・国内学会で報告された。最後に，選挙権が18歳に引き下げられたことをうけて2016年の参議院選挙の投開票日直後から17歳，18歳の若者に対してインターネット調査を行った。このデータを用いて選挙権を得た新有権者と得られなかった17歳との間にどれだけ政治的意識の差異が生じたのかを分析した。研究成果は国際学会にて報告される。
