项目摘要

トルコ系移民は、現代ドイツにおいて最大の移民コミュニティーである。彼らの使用言語はドイツ社会から問題視されてきた。しかしトルコ系移民が話すドイツ語に対するドイツ人からの評価が、1990年代半ばから一部改善されてきたという言説が、先行研究において確認されている。Heike Wiese（2006）によると、移民背景を持つ者の話す言語が移住先の社会から受容され使用されるという現象は、ヨーロッパ全土で起こっているという。この言説に依拠し、次の2点を明らかにすることを2015年度の研究課題とした：（A）欧州諸国で移民背景を持つ者が話す言語は、移民背景を持たない人物の中でも特にどのような社会的集団に属する者によって、どのような目的で話されているのか。（B）移民背景を持つ者の言語を話す移民背景を持たない者は、移民背景を持つ者の言語をどのように評価し、またどのような理由からその評価を与えるのか。以上の点を、1) 話者、2) 話される場所、3) 同言語の特徴、4) 移民の言語が移民背景を持たない者によって話される目的に分けて調査した。なおここでの言語とは、移住先の国で話されている言語を指す。結論として、同じ移民背景を持たない若者のあいだでも、日常生活において移民背景を持つ者との接触があるかないかによって、移民背景を持つ者の言語を話す際の動機が異なることが明らかとなった。移民背景を持つ者と接触のある者が、自らのアイデンティティとして彼らの言語を話す一方で、移民背景を持つ者と接触の少ない者が、「不完全な言語しか話せない」という移民に対する意識から、彼らの話す言語を模倣していた。すなわち移民背景を持つ者の言語に対する評価に、二重性が存在しているのだ。
