本研究の目的は，未婚化・晩婚化の要因として挙げられている「個人主義の浸透」の検討を通じて，社会意識の変動が個人の結婚行動に与えるメカニズムを理論的・実証的に検討することである．特に本年では，個人主義の浸透・見合い結婚の衰退と恋愛結婚の普及・晩婚化の関連を分析することが目標であった．本年度の目標は基本的に達成された．これは以下の3点による．まず，本研究の基礎的なモデルを提供する研究を取りまとめた論文が日本の社会学で最もインパクトのある『社会学評論』に受理された．この論文は経済学で近年発展している「選好の進化」と呼ばれるモデルを用いて，個人主義の浸透が恋愛結婚の普及をどのように促進したか，理論的な説明を与えた論文である次に，本年度の目標であった晩婚化との関連の研究成果を，日本の数理社会学会とアメリカ社会学会の合理性と社会部会，数理社会学部会とが合同で行った国際会議にて報告した．この研究では，個人主義の浸透と結婚タイミングとの関連を分析した．この報告はBest Paper Awardを受賞し，同様に本研究が社会学に貢献しうることを示唆している．この研究は国際学術誌Journal of Mathematical Sociologyに特集論文として招待され，現在投稿中である．最後に，実証的な側面に関して述べる．上述した理論的な研究成果を．社会調査データを用いた計量分析を用いて検討した．潜在クラス分析とイベントヒストリー分析を併用しながら，JGSS-2006データを用いて分析を行った結果，理論的な示唆は基本的に支持された．結婚タイミングに関しては，分析に課題があるものの，より大規模な社会調査データを用いて解決できるものと思われる．これらの成果は紀要『文化』（オープンアクセス）にて報告した．以上の3点をもって，本研究における今年度の目標は達成されたと考えている．
