项目摘要

本研究は、1930年代から1950年代までの間に製作された日本映画において、ヴォイス・オーヴァー（voice-over）という語り方が、どのようなものとして認識され、どのように使用されていたのかを検討しながら、その語り方を歴史的に考察することを目的とする。ヴォイス・オーヴァーの考察を通して、その語り方が映画や歴史、同時代の文化的・社会的な側面とどのように関係しているのかも明らかにしていきたい。現在様々なジャンルの映画で多く使用されているヴォイス・オーヴァーは、1930年代の日本映画のサイレント映画からトーキー映画への転換とともに使用され始めた。しかし、1930年代から1950年代の日本映画に採用されていたヴォイス・オーヴァーは、現代における様々なジャンルの映画で頻繁に用いられる語り方とは異なり、当時の歴史的文脈およびジャンルの特徴にしたがって、その使われ方にそれぞれの特徴や変遷を見ることができるようなものだった。そうしたヴォイス・オーヴァーのバリエーションは、日本という特定の歴史的コンテクストと深く関係していた。本研究は、当時の映画で採用されたヴォイス・オーヴァーの特徴的な使用法をもとに、それらのバリエーションを想定し、日本映画史の文化的・社会的側面を意識しながらその語り方の変遷を歴史的に問う。以上のような歴史的観点から、1930年代のトーキーへの移行期から1950年代の戦後映画（反戦映画）までを博士論文の研究対象とすることにした。さらに、指導教員との相談を繰り返しつつ、共同ゼミでの個人発表で得たコメントも反映させ、第1章から第4章までをまとめた成果を国際学術大会で発表した。（盧銀美、「ヴォイス・オーヴァーから考える日本映画の語り方─―1930年代から1945年の劇映画を中心に」、『韓国日本学会（KAJA）第96回国際学術大会発表論文集』、2018年2月）
