本研究は、広島における原爆・被爆体験継承の実態を把握し、市民による、戦争と平和構築の記憶継承活動の発生・発展の形態について体系化を試み、今後の参加型継承体制の支援に向けて、具体的な提案を図ることを目的とする。被爆体験は、個々人が抱える負の記憶だが、70余年を経て、特定の社会・経済・政治・精神的環境のもと、「恒久の世界平和を訴える国際的な集合記憶」へと昇華・変遷してきた。その過程を、本実証研究で明らかにした。平成30年度の研究実績は以下の通りである。①一次・二次資料の収集。②国内外の被爆体験継承に関する新規データベース構築（電子化、タグ付け）、新規５種類のデータベース構築・データ解析・言説分析を行い、理論構築を展開。③新規・既存データベース（アンケート・証言等）を比較分析可能にするためのデータ整理・加工。④データの定量・定性分析及び結果の相互検証と解釈。⑤言説の変遷理論モデルの構築と汎用性のテスト。⑥言説変遷を通じた動員の理論モデルを構築。⑦同理論モデルを用いて、被爆体験における言説変遷の軌跡と要因・結果を解明・体系化。⑧被爆体験継承における被爆者とヒロシマの自己アイデンティティ変遷の軌跡、及び分脈を同定・理論化。⑨成果の中間報告（学術誌、学会発表など）。⑩広島平和記念資料館の展示に対する国内外の反応と被爆体験継承の関係、平和観光を通した継承の実態と将来の可能性、市民参加型の原爆・被爆体験の実態と次世代への継承の方策などを考察・提案。以上、何れも計画に沿って遂行できた。解析結果の一部は、査読付き論文や国際学会、および市民公開講座で口頭発表し、成果を広く共有し、朝日新聞、読売新聞、中国新聞でも報道された。国内外の人たちがインターネット上で、自発的に被爆体験を継承している実態とそのプロセスの実践研究は、読売新聞地方版にも掲載された。
