本年度は、最終段階となる（３）明清時代中国と西洋の思想的相互作用の歴史的意義の解明に取り組んだ。新型コロナウィルスの蔓延により海外調査ができなかったため、国内各機関の所蔵漢籍、および期間限定ながら無償公開の範囲が大幅に拡大された台湾中央研究院歴史語言研究所内閣大庫トウ案などオンラインで利用可能な史料の活用に努めた。まず蓬左文庫にて『天文暦数地理之書』と題する漢籍を閲覧した。その中身は李之藻編纂の『天学初函』にほぼ該当するが、うち『天主実義』は目録に掲げられず、『大西問答』との題目で収録されている。『天文暦数地理之書』『大西問答』のような題目の変更は、キリシタン禁書と認識されるのを避ける工夫だったものと推測される。また同じく名古屋市内の古書店にて『坤輿万国全図抜粋』と題する漢籍写本を入手した。書写の年代や作者は不明だが、中身はリッチ『坤輿万国全図』からの抜粋であり、簡略ながら世界地図の模写もあり、かつ地点ごとに片仮名一文字が振られている。これらの漢籍は明伝来の西学が単に海外へ移動したのみならず、現地の便法に沿って流通、消化されたことを示しており、明清時代中国と西洋との思想的相互作用の結晶である西学書の国際的作用の一端を表す事例である。成果公表に関しては、まず昨年度に台湾中央研究院と国立公文書館で調査した徐朝俊『高厚蒙求』について、歌訣の形式の採用や図像化といった工夫、地方志における分野説に基づく位置表示から経緯度法へという変化に対する関与を中心に、民間における西学的知識の通俗化と実用化の事例として『漢学とは何か』への寄稿論文にまとめた。また川原秀城編『西学東漸と東アジア』（2015）の中文訳が出版されることになり、国際的な成果共有の貴重な機会として、自分の担当章の翻訳校正を入念に行った。2021年度以降に刊行が予定されている二種の事典にも、西学に関する概説的項目を寄稿した。
