往来物・書簡文例集を中心とした近世期書簡文化と文芸作品の相関性に関する研究

（1）往来物と文芸作品の歴史人物・古典イメージについて、「瀬川采女説話」を取り上げて考察し、近世期において采女の妻・菊が評価される基準が夫への「誠」の愛情であることを明らかにした。この思想は古義堂周辺で成立した往来物『釆女玉章』（明和五年）や独自の神道説を備えた増穂残口『艶道通鑑』（享保四年）にも共通し、恋愛感情をも含む「人情」を肯定する点で、当時権威的であった朱子学とはやや異なる。近世期の書簡体小説の多くは艶書小説であることに鑑みても、本説話をめぐる思想の様相は注目に値する（『近世文藝』へ掲載決定済）。関連して、往来物の菊の書簡が原典『太閤記』とは異なる本文を持つことを発見し注釈的検討を行った。（2）浮世草子・合巻を中心とする文芸作品における、書簡証文類の表現方法と往来物・案文集の関係性について検討した。浮世草子では書簡証文類が多用され、文例集と同様の書式を「はめ込む」形で利用する場合がある。特に女性の書簡手本類に見られる特殊な形式「散らし書き」を利用した艶書小説『新薄雪物語』（正徳六年）・『当流雲のかけはし』（享保四年）・『薄紅葉』（享保七年）に注目し、浮世草子にこの趣向が用いられた背景には、それまで主に男性の嗜みであった手習いが庶民層の女性にまで拡大したという、享保期前後の時代性が影響していると指摘した。上記三作品は、主に当時の女性達が文の手本とした人々（御所方・武家の奥方、京の傾城）の艶書を載せて散らし書きにすることで、読者に書簡表現・作法を啓蒙する意図があったと考えられる（上智大学で口頭発表済、来年度中に論文化の予定である）。さらに、一九・京伝・三馬の合巻でも文例集と同様の書式を「はめ込む」現象がみられること、特にこの手法を多く用いたのは往来物作家としても活躍した一九であったことを確認した。以上（1）および（2）については今後より通時的な検討が求められよう。
