项目摘要

前年度に続き、(1)ブラジルのナショナルな政治文脈における日系人の政治参加、(2)サンパウロ州内の日系人集住地におけるローカルな政治参加、(3)南北アメリカ日系人が第二次世界大戦後の政治体制の発展の中で置かれた状況の違いを分析し、博士論文の作成を進めた。その中で9月にブラジル調査を実施した。また、11月発行の琉球大学沖縄移民研究センター『移民研究』第16号への論文投稿、12月の筑波大学・移民研究フォーラムでの口頭発表を行った。各テーマの研究状況は以下の通りである。（1）20世紀後半のブラジルの民主化、軍事政権、再民主化の政治発展における日系政治家の所属政党の分布、その変化、選挙結果と日系社会の言説の分析を行った。日系人が軍事政権下でモデル・マイノリティとしての立場を強め、政治的に保守的な傾向を持った点を観察してまとめ、『移民研究』へ投降した。9月に追加のフィールドワークを実施し、軍事政権から再民主化への移行期に活動した日系政治家らへ聞き取りを行い、再民主化の過程で進展した大衆向け社会改革と日系人の関心の差異を明らかにした。（2）前年度調査で収集した資料を分析し、サンパウロ州内の日系人集住地域における日系人の市政、市議会への参加と、移住地建設の経緯との関係を考察した。また、州内各地の日系市議会議員、日系サンパウロ州議会議員の連携がもたらすローカルな政策への影響に着目し、日系人の地理的分布とそのネットワークがどのように政治参加において機能しているかを分析した。(3) 先行研究から南北アメリカの日系人を取り巻く戦後の各国の政治体制の発展について整理した。ついで、北米の自由民主主義の発展と、南米で広がった軍事政権下では日系人の政治性に差異が表れたこと、また、南米でも国民国家形成が遅れた国と進んだ国、戦後移民の有無などの条件によって日系人の政治的関心に違いが生じたことを明らかにした。

The Japanese people's stand on military politics is strong, their political conservatism is conservative, and their immigration studies are surrendering.
