本年度は以下の3点の研究を実施した。1、明治政府の修史部局が編纂を管轄した官撰史誌「府県史料」「皇国地誌」について、本年度は21都道府県27機関の公文書館・図書館を史料調査した。前年度とあわせて関係史料を残す計42都道府県57機関について、府県が編纂した史誌の稿本や関係する行政文書を悉皆的に確認することができた。各府県における史誌編纂の進行状況、史誌編輯掛への学問・測量術に秀でた人材の任用事例、同時代の行政・戦前の郷土史研究における利用実態といった点について詳細な知見を得られた。以上の史料調査にもとづき、今後成果の発表を進めていく。2、国立公文書館が所蔵する明治太政官制期の公文書を分析し、当時の文書行政における史誌編纂事業の位置づけを検討した。その結果、現在国立公文書館で内閣文庫―和書に分類される「府県史料」が、明治19年に内閣臨時修史局から内閣記録局に引き継がれた後、明治20～21年にかけて「編纂成ルニ随ヒ消滅ニ帰スヘキモノ」とされた「記録材料」という文書群に分類され、最終的に大正3年に内閣書記官室記録課図書掛に移管された来歴を確認した。この過程で現在「記録材料」に分類されるが本来「府県史料」にあたる簿冊を発見した。また、同館の「公文録」に着目して「太政類典」「公文類聚」の編纂過程を考察した共著論文を発表した。3、修史事業と併行して明治前期に各省が進めた沿革調査について、記録保存の意義の共有、編纂事業の競合という2つの視角から分析した。皇城炎上を契機として記録保存の重要性を認識した各省は、所管事業に関する沿革調査を実施した。その際に編纂対象の項目をめぐり「府県史料」編纂と競合する省もあった。だが各省が記録保存に注力する意義は年々低下し、内閣制の導入後に修史事業と同様に各省の沿革調査は縮小・廃止され、沿革調査は省外の個人に委ねるか、省の官制の沿革に過ぎなくなると見通した。

This year, the following three points of research have been carried out. 1. The compilation process of "Taizheng Classics" and "Gongwen Classics" in the same library was investigated and the paper was published. 3. History revision career and parallel development of each province in the early Meiji period. Investigation and analysis of the significance of record preservation and compilation career. 2. Perspective analysis. To understand the importance of record-keeping and to conduct research on the evolution of enterprises under the jurisdiction of each province The compilation of historical data The significance of provincial record keeping is low, the history of the province is revised after the introduction of the cabinet system, and the evolution of the province is reduced. The evolution of the province is investigated and the personal committee of the province is established.
