本研究は、壁崩壊後に記憶の景観が大きく書き換えられているベルリンのトポグラフィーに着目し、今日のドイツの「想起の文化」の諸相を詳らかにする。「想起の文化」とは、ナチズムの過去を自己批判的に想起し、その負の記憶を、今日の連邦共和国ならびにEUの基本的価値観（民主主義・法治国家・人権擁護）を支える資源に転換しようとする政治的・社会的・文化的な想起の営みの総称である。この営みは、1980年代に批判的市民による下からの想起の運動として輪郭を現しはじめたが、再統一後の今日、連邦共和国のさまざま次元で広く実践されている。本研究は、集合的記憶を支える空間的枠組み（都市空間における記憶の空間的メディア）に着目する。1990年代以降、ベルリンには、ナチズムとその犯罪をテーマとする数々の歴史展示施設、公的記念碑、パブリックアートなどが誕生した。それらは、自国の犯罪的過去を公共空間で想起させるという特殊な課題に応えるべく、革新的な方法を取り入れている。それらの空間的メディアを生み出すにあたり、どのような人々が担い手となったのか、また、それらの空間メディアが表象している過去が、現在のどのような視座を反映しているかを調べている。2022年度は、当初の計画では、ドイツでフィールドワークを行う予定だった。しかし、新型コロナウィルス感染拡大による制限のため、前年度に引き続き、渡航を延期せざるをえなかった。それゆえ、2022年度はそれまでに収集した資料の整理と分析を行った。そして、本研究の成果を公表するために準備している単行本『想起のトポグラフィー：ホロコーストの記憶と空間実践（仮題）』の執筆作業に専念した。具体的には、同書の第６章「『周辺』の試み」と第7章「想起のプロジェクト『躓きの石』」をまとめた。また、本研究の理論的前提をなす「文化的記憶」のコンセプトについて概説した論文を発表した。

This study focuses on the aspects of memory after the collapse of the wall and the culture of memory.
