项目摘要

本研究の目標は日本の産業用ロボット産業の初期の発展に注目し、ロボットの導入決定要因や、ロボットの普及が日本経済に与えた影響を分析することである。労働力と代替的・補完的であったであろう産業用ロボットという当時の新しい生産要素の導入背景や、その影響を解析することで、昨今盛んに議論されている人工知能（AI）等の現代の新しい生産要素の普及過程や日本経済に与える影響に示唆を与えることを目的としている。今年度は、産業用ロボット導入の背景に労働力不足があることを実証的に示す研究を行い、論文にまとめた。産業用ロボットの導入の背景には様々な理由が指摘されているが、これまで定量的な分析は行われていなかった。当論文では熟練工や単純工といった職種別の労働力不足指数を用いて、職種別の労働力不足とロボット導入との関連について実証分析を行っている。既存研究の多くが産業用ロボットの導入が経済、特に労働市場へ与える影響について焦点を当てている。一方、本研究は米国で開発された産業用ロボットが日本に導入されたのち急速に普及していった要因を明らかにすることに主眼を置いている。日本ロボット工業会のデータによると、1970年代は自動車が金額として最も大きな出荷先産業の一つとなっている。自動車生産のオートメーション化は様々な資料より確認されており、当時の生産量、輸出量拡大に産業用ロボットは大きな貢献を果たしている可能性がある。これは新しい生産要素の利用や普及が、日本経済に与える影響を分析する上で大きな示唆を与えてくれると考えている。そのため、昨年度に引き続き、自動車産業における産業ロボットの利用方法や1970年代からの自動車生産量、製品価格に関する資料やデータの収集を行った。
