本研究は、日本語の話し言葉の中で、話し手の「キャラクタ／キャラ」（人物像）と結びつくことば遣い（キャラことば）に着目し、主に日本語学習者の自己表現の一環としての「キャラことば」表現について、教材開発を視野に入れつつ分析を行うものである。今年度は、前年度に引き続き、当初の研究計画を一部修正し、学習者の「キャラ」や「キャラことば」への意識を探るアンケート調査の実施と、「キャラ」の概念について漫画に表れる表現の観察を元に考察することの二点を柱に研究を進めることとした。そのため、以下のような作業を主に行った。1）参考文献の整理　2）学習者及び日本語母語話者向けのアンケート・インタビュー調査の計画を立て、学内の研究倫理審査を通す　3）アンケートの実施を始める　4）漫画作品中にあらわれる「キャラ」の描かれ方について観察する2）3）のアンケートについては、「キャラ」やそれに関連することば遣いについての学習者の意識を探るためのアンケートを作成し、所属機関の研究倫理審査委員会の承認とタイ語への翻訳のプロセスを踏んでから、タイでの調査を実施した。23年度はこのアンケートを申請者の所属機関の留学生や日本語母語話者にも拡大し、結果をまとめて研究の方向性の土台とする予定である。4）については、漫画作品を題材にして、登場人物の振るまいや言葉遣いが相手によってどのように変わるかを観察し、論文として『関西外国語大学留学生別科日本語教育論集』32号で発表した。また、研究内容について『タイ国日本語教育研究会第35回年次セミナー』で口頭発表を行った。発表後の質疑応答では建設的なコメントをいただき、たいへん有意義であった。この研究会参加を含む研究出張では、タイでの学習者の様子についての情報交換や、アンケートの協力依頼を行うことができた。
