本研究は、国内のガヴァナンスがどのように経済援助・直接投資といったグローバルな資金の移動に影響し、また、逆に後者が国家能力の向上・民主化・ポピュリズムの台頭といった形で先進国・途上国双方のガヴァナンスにどう影響を与えているのかを解明することを目的としている。当該年度は、「民主化促進援助」の、特にアメリカにおける発展とその背後にある政治家や行政機関など様々なアクターの動機、そしてその効果を理論的・実証的に分析するとともに、直接投資と密接な関係にある生産過程のグローバル化（グローバル・バリュー・チェーンの構築）民主主義国の政治過程にどのような変容を生じさせうるかという点について、アメリカに焦点を当てて理論化・実証分析を進めた。両者とも国内外のジャーナルに投稿し、査読を受けているところである。また、先進国に限らず、中国のような新興ドナーが台頭していることに着目し、世界銀行との比較で途上国住民の自国政府の正統性認識に与える影響を分析した論文の、海外査読誌への掲載が決定した。
