本研究の目的は、日本語教師向けに無料で開催されるハイフレックス型研究会（Hybrid-Flexible：参加者が現地参加かオンライン参加かを選択することができる形態）研究会への継続的な参加により、教師である参加者の教育観と教育実践がどのように変容したか、自己研修の場である研究会をどのように維持・発展させてきたかを明らかにし、研修システムに新たな知見を提供することである。2022年度は、研究対象の日本語教育アクティブラーニング研究会（以下、本研究会）のスタッフと参加者にインタビュー調査を行った。２０２１年度、スタッフに個別にインタビュー調査を行ったが、本研究会での出来事に関し、よく覚えているスタッフとそうではないスタッフがおり、個人差が大きかったため、2022年度は本研究会の関与時期により3グループ（発足当時からのスタッフ3人、2019年以前から本研究会に参加し、参加者からスタッフになった3人、2019年以降に参加者からスタッフになった2人）を作成し、グループインタビュー調査を実施した。しかし、2019年以前から本研究会に参加し、参加者からスタッフになった3人はスケジュールがあわず、2022年度は調査ができなかった。また、一般参加者としてベトナムの大学に派遣されている日本人教師、ベトナムの大学で現地採用されている日本人教師、ベトナム人教師の計3人にインタビュー調査を実施した。本研究会や他の研究会、学会、教師研修への参加経験と自身の日本語教育実践（日本語教師としての略歴、担当授業、理想とする授業など）について語ってもらった。なお、ベトナムでの調査に際し、海外の教師研修に通じた齊藤真美氏（Vietnam Japan University:日越大学）に研究協力を依頼した。齊藤氏がインタビューに同席することで、調査協力者の経験を詳細に聞き出すことができた。
