本年度はまず、これまで行ってきたVRを活用した語学教育の効果について検証を行い、8月の2022 PC Conferenceでは「VR空間内での活動を経験記憶につなげる外国語教育」と題した発表を行い、同時に論文も執筆して、VRを使った学習が学修内容を長期記憶に繋げやすいということについて検証を行った。また、2023年3月発行の『Computor ＆ Education』に発表した論文「メタバース空間における臨場感・没入感をともなう語学学習　―Mozilla Hubsを活用した大学の初級中国語授業における実践―」では、学習者が深い没入状態に入っており、より学習効果が高まっていることなどの検証を行っている。また、上記２本がソーシャルVRプラットフォーム・Mozilla Hubsを使い、PCでのメタバース利用であるのに対し、VRゴーグルを使った授業も実施し、2023年3月に行われたe-Learning教育学会で発表した。VRを使った語学教育の普及にも取り組み、国立情報学研究所主催の「大学等におけるオンライン教育とデジタル変革に関するサイバーシンポジウム」に「大学におけるメタバースを活用した語学学習の実践報告」というタイトルで登壇した他、台湾の大学でもVRを活用した語学教育について2回講演を行った。VR教材の公開を求める声も多く、本年度は予定を繰り上げてこれまで授業で使用してきたVR教材とその利用方法を説明した動画を公開した。これまで実践してきたVRを活用した語学教員が評価され、2022年11月に受賞式が行われた「第19回日本eラーニングアワード」で、本研究チームは「VR活用部門特別部門賞」を受賞している。
