2022年度は、研究初年度として、研究課題の遂行に必要な史料収集を主な研究活動とした。史料収集は、1) 一橋大学経済研究所、2) 国際社会史研究所（アムステルダム）で行った。1) 一橋大学経済研究所では、イギリス共産党関連の文献・定期刊行物を閲覧し収集した。特に、1920年代の女性党員リクルートに関する史料に注目し、当該課題研究の重要な視座の一つである女性党員に関する重要な知見を得ることができた。2) 国際社会史研究所では、コミュニスト・インターナショナルおよびイギリス共産党に関する史料を収集・閲覧した。同研究所では、モスクワのコミンテルン・アーカイヴにも未所蔵の史料（Peter Petroff papers など）を閲覧・収集することができた。Peter Petroff papersは未公刊の自伝的回想録であり、1920年代のモスクワにおけるコミンテルン関係者間の個人的な接触や関係性、コミンテルン大会開催時のモスクワの様子などを克明に記している。このような描写は、公刊された史料には含まれていないものも多く、本研究課題の中心的視座の一つである「個人的関係による公的なチャンネルの補完」という観点の考察に不可欠なものとなる。研究計画で示した通り、上記の史料群は、1920年代のイギリスにおける共産主義イデオロギーの伝播過程の考察に不可欠であり、今後はこれらを整理・分析することで成果を示していくこととする。また、研究課題の遂行に必要な文献資料をいくつか購入し、近年の研究成果の把握と先行研究の視座と比較しての本研究の独自性を確認する作業を行った。
