本研究は新型コロナウィルス感染症の蔓延による2020年4月の緊急事態宣言前と後をまたいだ2時点の情報を収集することによって、新型コロナウィルスパンデミックへの災害としての曝露の程度を把握できるような諸指標を検討・構築する。そして、変化の情報を利用した因果分析を行うものである。2022年度には、複数の研究者と数度にわたって調査票の構成や指標についてディスカッションしつつ調査票を作成し、当初の予定通り2022年秋に調査を実施した。この調査は、65歳以上の高齢者を対象として実施する「健康とくらしの調査」である。日本老年学的評価研究（Japan Gerontological Evaluation Study：JAGES)と共同で実施し、その一部に本研究に関する設問を追加した。新型コロナウィルス感染症前後の変化が把握できるように、2019年調査で質問した時間選好の質問（Ashraf, N., Karlan, D., & Yin, W. (2006)等で用いられた方法）等を2022年調査でも同様の質問をした。調査票の回収は順調に進み、およそ55%が回収された。本調査で追加した設問は、別途行う予定である経済実験の指標とも比較して検証の予定である。
