研究計画の一年目として、前半は国際社会学、難民研究、トランスナショナリズム研究に関する先行研究の検討に注力し、先行研究の到達点の把握と今後の研究上の課題のあぶり出しを行った。並行して、初年度は国内調査に軸足を置き、とくに関東圏を中心に調査を実施した。ビルマ系難民が実施する各種行事やイベントへの参加及びフィールドワークを行い、関係者への聞き取りや参与観察調査などを行った。このなかで本年度は移民や難民の社会統合論で着目される移民宗教が果たす社会的機能に関する調査研究を重点的に実施した。仏教徒が多い事情を踏まえ、夏季休暇を中心に関東圏に所在するビルマ系僧院でのフィールド調査を行った。出身国ビルマでは宗教的マジョリティであったビルマ系仏教徒も、来日という越境移動を契機として日本ではマイノリティ宗教として宗教市場へ編入することを余儀なくされる。来日後のビルマ系同胞の宗教需要を満たすため、ビルマ系仏教徒は日緬両国をまたぐ越境的ネットワークを介し、出身国から宗教的財の取寄せや僧侶の呼寄せを行うなど宗教基盤の整備を進めてきたことが把握できたとともに、軍事クーデターの影響が長引くなか、子どものアイデンティティ形成や教育、ビルマ系一世の高齢化とその後の対応など長期滞在に関するビルマ系仏教徒の宗教的需要の存在も明るみとなった。今回の調査研究で明らかになったビルマ系仏教徒の越境的な移住戦略については、宗教研究に関する専門雑誌にて学術論文として公表する機会を得た。また並行して、難民支援NGOの会議などにも継続して参加し、難民やビルマに関する最新情報のアップデイトに務めるとともに、次年度の調査研究への準備を進めている。

In the first half of the year, the research program focused on international sociology, refugee studies, and research related to advanced research, and the identification of the point of arrival of advanced research and future research topics. In parallel, in the beginning of the year, the domestic investigation axis was set up, and the Kanto investigation center was implemented. All kinds of activities are carried out by refugees. This year, the focus of research on the social integration of immigrants and refugees is on the social functions of immigrant religions. There are a lot of things to do in the church, and the summer vacation center is located in the Kanto area. The origin of the religion is the opportunity to move across the border.
