本調査研究は、戦後東北の教師たちがその「民間」教育実践・研究運動のなかで、昭和戦前期以来の「北方性教育」運動の精神をどのように継承してきたのか、その実際的な展開や実像への問題意識から、1952年以来今日まで「北方性教育の遺産の継承・発展」を標榜してきた「東北民教研」（東北地区民間教育研究団体合同研究集会）における教育実践研究の展開に着目し、各時代の第一次資料等の探索発掘・収集分析、及び各時代の担い手・当事者への聴き取りなどをもとに、実証的に検討することを通して、戦後東北における民間教育研究運動の史的展開の実像とその特質、その教育実践史的意義を解明しようとするものである。本調査研究の初年度にあたる本年度（2023年度）は、まず本研究主題に関連する先行諸研究（「東北民教研」記念誌等の基礎文献や、東北６県の教育実践に関連する教育雑誌記事等）の収集・検討とあわせ、戦前・戦後の北方教師たちの実践、東北民教研の足跡についての著作・諸資料を収集・講読し、基礎的事実を整理することに努めた。そして、「東北民教研」の関連資料の収集作業については、宮城、山形における調査、資料収集を実施した。また、とりわけ初年度の本年度は、戦前岩手で活躍した石橋勝治の大船渡時代の教育実践の一部や、岩手において戦前から戦後にかけて生活綴方教育実践を重ね、当初から東北民教研（第1回教科研東北大会）に参加し、また岩手民教研の生みの親の一人でもある、永井庄蔵の教育実践に焦点を当て、その教育実践記録や、学級文集実践に関する先行研究の渉猟と基礎資料の収集・検討を行った。その調査・検討の結果としての研究成果の一部は、学内紀要論考の原稿にて報告を行った。加えて、山形県で夏に開催された2023年度「東北民教研」天童集会に参加し、今日における東北民教研の教育課題認識や見解などについて情報収集を行うことが出来た。

This study focuses on the spirit of the Northern Sex Education Movement since the early Showa period, and on the development of the problem consciousness of the teachers in the Northeast. The collection of data related to "Tohoku Civil Education" was carried out in Miyagi and Yamagata.
