项目摘要

2022年度は、古代エジプトの柱のプロポーションについて論じた既往研究を吟味し、それらの問題点や今後明らかにされるべき具体的な問いについて再整理した。概して、明確にプロポーション理論が存在したと考えられるのは第30王朝時代からギリシア・ローマ時代のみであって、新王国時代以前の柱には、西洋建築にみられるような柱径と柱高さの寸法の明確な比例関係は見られず、別の方法でデザインされていた可能性が高いと結論付けた。2022年7月にはエジプトのアコリス遺跡にて、3種類のシストルム柱頭の実測調査を行った。この成果については2023年度に発表予定である。また、2023年3月にニューヨーク・メトロポリタン美術館の主催するエジプト・ダハシュールのセンウセレト3世のピラミッド複合施設の発掘に参加し、そこから1500点以上出土している閉花型パピルス柱および閉花型ロータス柱の断片の分析にとりかかった。特に、ロータス柱の例は珍しく、なかでも六茎型と呼ばれるものはエジプト3000年の歴史においてこの他に2例しかなく、エジプト建築史上重要な発見である。本年度は、出土点数が比較的少ないロータス柱に焦点を当て、主要な断片を実測、三次元測量を行った。なお、本来この調査は、2022年の秋から冬にかけて行われる予定であったが、コロナ禍における手続き上の混乱と遅延により、調査が翌年3月から4月へと延期された。従って、この調査の成果発表も2023年度にて行いたい。その他、異なる様式の柱を同じ部屋に使っているエジプト建築の分析、そして柱の図面と模型との関係性を論じた論文、そして古代エジプトにおけるスポリアとしての柱の値段に関する論考、計3編の論文を発表した。また、エクスナレッジ社により出版された西洋建築史の著書にエジプトやペルシアの柱が多用されている遺跡について執筆を担当した。
