１．研究の目的：地元産の有機米や有機野菜を学校給食に使用する「有機学校給食」を導入する自治体が増えている。海外では有機学校給食は地域循環経済を構築するのに有効な「公共調達」として導入され、効果を上げている。これらを踏まえ、本研究では「有機学校給食には有機農業を地域に広める機能」と「持続可能なローカルフードシステム構築に寄与する機能」があるという仮説を立て、それを検証するために、有機学校給食を導入している全国の自治体の事例を収集・類型化し、そのなかの重要な数事例を選んでフードシステムの実態を分析し、事例調査を踏まえて全国的なアンケート調査を実施する。調査結果を考察して、仮説の妥当性を検討し、有機学校給食の社会的意義と発展の課題、農業政策に対する含意等を明らかにする。２．事例収集：初年度である今年度は有機学校給食を導入している全国の事例を収集した。データソースとして①NPO法人全国有機農業推進協議会が実施中の全国調査のデータ、②インターネットで公開されている「オーガニック給食マップ」（https://organic-lunch-map.studio.site/）、③ネット検索を利用した。導入を検討している地域を含め約150の事例を収集した。３．事例の類型化：収集した事例を開始時期、学校数、給食の食数、調理場所、頻度、農産物の種類と組み合わせ等の指標をもとに類型化する作業を行っている。４．研究成果を生かして、靏理恵子とともに共編著『有機給食スタートブック』（農文協）を刊行した。
