项目摘要

本研究では、ミャンマーの山間地域シャン州ナムサン郡で茶生産を生業とするモン・クメール系の少数民族パラウン人を事例に、村内外に張りめぐらされた「支援(トッ)」関係と呼ばれる互酬関係について研究を行う。2022年度は、新型コロナウイルスの流行状況と2021年の軍事クーデター以降のミャンマー情勢を考慮しミャンマーでの現地調査は実施せず、国内の研究機関や図書館における資料収集のほか、オンラインによる聞き取り調査やSNS上のメディア調査などを行なった。また、博士学位論文「チャ/茶とともに生きる人びと-転換期のミャンマーを生きる山地民の経済人類学的研究」をもとにした単著の出版を目指し、原稿の準備を行なった。具体的には、博士論文提出後の調査及び研究活動で得た知見を加え、原稿の大幅な加筆・修正を行なった。2022年度の主要な成果は、研究成果公開促進費（学術図書）に応募し、採択されたことである。2023年度内の出版に向けて、さらに原稿の修正を進めていく予定である。本書は、現代ミャンマーの政治や経済状況に翻弄されながら生きる少数民族の民族誌としても、負債と互酬性を主題とした文化人類学的研究としても画期的な成果になりうる。このほか、特別研究員の受入研究者と定期的に情報交換や議論を行なったほか、所属機関（津田塾大学）の国際関係研究所で毎月開催される研究懇談会に参加し、大学院生や研究所の所員と学術的交流を実施できたことも本年度における大きな成果である。
