仏滅後のインドにおける有力部派（教団）の一つ、根本説一切有部が伝える律蔵である根本説一切有部律の中の「破僧事」について、基礎研究と内容分析を行った。昨年度に引き続き、基礎研究については、梵文写本を用い、蔵訳と漢訳を比較対照した批判校訂テキストの作成とそれに基づいた翻訳を進めた。特に、「破僧事」後半部分のデーヴァダッタ説話の部分のテキスト研究を中心に行った。前半部分の仏伝についても、テキスト研究に着手した。作業を進める中で、既存の校訂テキストにおける誤りや不十分な情報についても改善することができた。加えて、上記の基礎研究をもとに内容分析を行い、学会でその成果を報告した。「破僧事」の破僧定義については、先行研究において複数の見解が提示されていたが、この問題について再検討を行った。その成果を、日本印度学仏教学会にて口頭発表し、同学会誌『印度學佛教學研究』（Journal of Indian and Buddhist Studies）に和文論文を投稿した。引き続き基礎研究となるテキスト研究を中心に、関連文献との比較も行いながら内容分析を進めていく。また、2023年2月よりマクマスター大学（カナダ）へ留学している。その中で、現地の研究者や学生たちとともに海外の根本説一切有部律に関する研究動向や、自身の研究課題についても議論を交えることができた。この留学期間中に、翻訳の英訳化についても同時に作業を進めていく。
