2022年度は当該研究に関わるfMRI実験の一つを実施・完了させた。健常者で片麻痺という重い障害を患った経験がなくとも、その動きを真似することにより、その動きに含まれる身体的・精神的困難性を主観的により正確に共感できることが明らかになった。また、それに関連して脳内では共感を試みようとした際に、他者の心理状態を熟慮的に推測する際に働く脳部位や、他者の状況を直観的に感じる際に働く脳部位などの働きが調整され、主観的な共感度合いの向上に寄与することが示された。この成果は国際学術雑誌である「NeuroImage」に掲載された。また国際学術会議である「World Congress of Neurorehabilitation」において発表し、一定の評価を得た。また、当該研究における次なる実験へ着手し、fMRIによる脳データ、心理的な主観尺度の測定をしている。現在、測定を続けながら解析も実施している。本実験では、実際経験できない片麻痺の動きであっても、その動作対象に物体がある、もしくは他者との相互動作であった場合、その動きに伴う心的状況が、健常者であっても共感し得るか検討している。現時点では、動作が他者との相互作用動作である場合に、共感に関わるいくつかの脳部位が特徴的な活動を示すことが明らかになっている。また心理尺度を含めてさらなるデータ測定を実施している。
