フレイル・ロコモ・サルコペニアの早期予防・重症化防止として、【若年】に焦点を当てた研究を進めている。以前、女子大学生の身体的特性を測定し、サルコペニア診断基準を踏まえて評価した結果、プレサルコペニア（筋量のみサルコペニア基準以下）（36%）該当者の割合は、隠れ肥満（17%）や肥満（5%）該当者の割合を大きく上回っていた（Yasuda. Interv Med Appl Sci, 2019）。そのため、高齢者だけではなく、若者を対象とした低骨格筋量の問題（サルコペニアなど）についても現状を把握し、早期から予防することは重要であることがわかった。その後、大学生の男女を対象とし、フレイル・ロコモ・サルコペニアの簡易診断チェックを行ったところ、フレイル・プレフレイル、ロコモ度1・ロコモ度2、プレサルコペニアに該当する者がいることを確認した（Yasuda.
