本研究の目的は、小学校体育授業のボール運動単元において児童の社会的スキルと技能の向上に焦点を当てた学習指導方略を検討することである。社会的スキルと技能の向上を促す学習指導方略としてアメリカにおいて実践された「Performer and Coach Earn Rewards（以下、PACERと示す）」が日本の体育授業において適用可能か検討することとした。課題遂行のため、PACERの6つの手続きを用いて小学校中学年のサッカー単元を対象に検証授業を行う。社会的スキルに関するアンケート調査、ビデオ撮影による授業観察、授業中の児童の発話、児童のゲームパフォーマンス、児童による授業評価（形成的授業評価）についてのデータを収集・分析していく。初年度である2022年度においては、検証授業を行う予定であったが、新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響により、予定していた調査を実施することができなかった。したがって、「Performer and Coach Earn Rewards（以下、PACERと示す）」のベースとなる協同学習モデルに関する海外の先行研究や書籍を参考に理論的部分に関する整理を行なった。
