「一般学術目的の英語（EGAP）」教育においては、学術場面の要求に対応できる高度な英語運用能力の育成が重要とされている一方、その要求と学習者の英語習熟度にはしばしば乖離が見られることが報告されている。そこで本研究は、講義視聴など実際の学術場面に即した高度な聴解タスクを行う際に、文字情報を足場がけとして補助的に活用することの影響を検討することを目的とする。平成26年度は、前年度に実施した本調査の結果の分析を行った。この本調査では75名の日本人大学生を対象に、講義視聴と内容筆記再生からなる統合型タスクを課題として設定し、3種類の補助情報（講義の構成、重要語彙、低頻度語彙）の提示が聴取理解の程度に及ぼす影響を比較した。分析では、補助情報提示の効果を質的に検討するため、聴解の対象とした講義素材の情報を意味的特徴（主情報、補助情報、付加情報）の観点から重みづけを行った上で内容筆記における再生率を比較した。その結果、講義の構成提示群が主情報および補助情報の再生率が最も高い一方、低頻度語彙提示群では、主情報と補助情報ともに再生率が最も低く、誤った情報や無関係な情報は最も多く産出されていたことがわかった。重要語彙提示群では、主情報の再生率は高いものの関連する補助情報の再生率は低く、前述の2群の中間的な役割を持つ可能性が示唆された。結論として、学習者の習熟度や学習目的に応じて補助情報として提示する内容や形式を決定することで、聴解学習の際に適切な足場がけの提供が可能となることが教育的示唆として得られた。当該研究課題の成果については、第47回 Annual Meeting of the British Association for Applied Linguistics等で口頭発表を行うとともに、Professional and Academic English誌等で学術論文を発表した。
