项目摘要
ABSTRACT - Administrative Core
The Administrative Core will serve as the organization, integration, and evaluation hub of our Cancer Systems
Biology Consortium (CSBC) Center, the M2CH-CSBC. This Core provides leadership and supports and
coordinates: (a) communications and interactions within the M2CH-CSBC and across the CSBC, (b) proposal
preparation, management, reporting, and compliance activities, (c) oversight of budgetary and intellectual
property issues, (d) oversight of the M2CH-CSBC computational infrastructure and the Resource Sharing Plan,
(e) project integration and evaluation (including pilot projects), and (f) external review of the Center, including
assembly of an External Advisory Committee (EAC). The Administrative Core will be led by Dr. Joe Gray
(Contact Program Director, PD and PI Imaging Core and Project 3), Dr. Claire Tomlin (co-PD and co-PI Project
3), Dr. Rosalie Sears (co-PD and PI Project 1), Dr. Adam Margolin (co-PD and co-PI Project 2), and Center
Administrator, Dr. Heidi Feiler. This Core will coordinate M2CH-CSBC participation in the CSBC programmatic
meetings, such as the Steering Committee, annual CSBC Investigators Meetings, and site visits. For planning
and evaluation, it will organize M2CH-CSBC meetings, including bi-weekly team progress review meetings and
quarterly meetings of the M2CH-CSBC Steering Committee, comprised of all key personnel. The
Administrative Core will make these group meetings available by videoconference to facilitate participation and
discussion. The Administrative Core will provide logistics support to the Outreach Core. It will host a
symposium that will highlight work accomplished in the field of systems biology and advanced measurement
technology and include presentations by M2CH-CSBC collaborators and other experts. Administrative support
and oversight of outreach activities, such as personnel exchanges, workshops, and community crowd-sourcing
projects, will be provided. Information about these events and Center activities will appear on the M2CH-
CSBC website, which the Administrative Core will develop and manage. In addition, the Administrative Core
will oversee the Resource Sharing Plan and development of the data networking infrastructure platform in the
Imaging Core that will leverage OMERO and a SAGE-Synapse host site. The Administrative Core will oversee
pilot project solicitation and development in collaboration with an EAC and the CSBC. It will also coordinate a
mentoring mechanism for junior faculty pilot awardees. Members of the EAC will serve on a rotating basis and
will include one voting National Cancer Institute (NCI) Project Scientist. The Administrative Core will organize
annual EAC meetings to provide guidance on Center activities. This review will be coordinated with an annual
M2CH-CSBC retreat so the external advisors will have the opportunity to interact with researchers from all the
M2CH-CSBC sites. The Administrative Core will support and integrate activities across the other two Cores
(Imaging and Outreach) and Projects 1, 2, and 3, which collectively form our M2CH-CSBC Center.
