To carry out this project we will use a DAF truck and build the MISER HKS onto the chassis coupled to the drivetrain. This will include fitting the hydraulic accumulators needed to store the recovered energy ready to be deployed when needed. In addition to the mechanical and hydraulic installation there will be a bespoke electronic management systems (EMS) that will log the various inputs needed to apply either the kinetic energy harnessing or energy deployment via the vehicle's drivetrain.After the successful installation and the initial testing, we will do a number of test runs, both with and without the MISER HKS system in operation gathering all the data needed. This will also show us the fuel saving and exhaust emission reductions. In addition to the EMS the vehicle will be fitted with an independent, sophisticated data logging and recording system that we will be using to both accurately measure the fuel and emission reductions while adjusting a number of the EMS software to optimize the MISER HKS systems efficiency.We have previously engaged the University of Cardiff for independent 3rd party analysis and verification, and will do so again towards the end of the six months project period.
