Gumbo is a recipe search engine that helps people find meals based on the ingredients they have at home (https://gumbo.co.uk). It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to match the contents of people's fridge and pantry with appropriate recipes from the internet, taking into account factors such as dietary restrictions and desired meal type. Gumbo aims to reduce food waste, save people money, and help them navigate the vast number of recipes available online. It is currently free to use, has around 1,000 regular monthly visitors and customer surveys show that our users are delighted with the service.Gumbo is developed by a micro company called Gumbo Limited, located in Leicestershire, England. We've created a successful minimum viable product and are now seeking funding to further develop the site. The project will involve working with local talent from the creative industries in Leicestershire, including programmers, graphic designers, UX designers, photographers, and videographers.
