项目摘要

This project aims to demonstrate how Indigenous peoples can contribute to our understanding of and production of indicators to monitor sustainable development. Working with Indigenous communities in Australia and Indonesia as equal partners, the project hopes to address a significant gap in developing innovative methodologies which weaves Indigenous and Western knowledge to produce policy-relevant research. Expected outcomes of this project include a set of sustainable development indicators that embed Indigenous worldviews and in a manner that policymakers can utilise. This should provide significant benefits to Indigenous communities in Australia and internationally through enhanced capacity in Indigenous policy design and evaluation.
