Our project will see the creation and delivery of a 'Vertiport: FE Student Design Challenge'. The challenge will raise awareness and develop students' understanding of Future Flight using a fun and engaging format. Target participants will be 16-19yr olds studying full time aviation related courses in further education colleges across England. The challenge will pose a scenario to groups of students who will be required to design their own vertiport, taking into consideration a variety of factors and challenges. Each group will present their ideas to a panel of judges, with the winning presentation from each college proceeding to regional finals, with the first and second placed presentations from the regional finals proceeding to the national final where the Vertiport FE Student Challenge winner will be crowned. At each stage of the challenge extra factors will be added to increase the breadth of the challenge. The challenge will be delivered across the Aviation FE Network, a collaboration of 23 Further Education Colleges.
