CineDev is developing UMeT, a Universal Metadata Translator and management system, to solve the problem of managing inconsistent metadata in the Film and TV industry. With the growth of digital technologies, large amounts of metadata are generated during production, but the vast and diversified nature of the information has resulted in numerous inconsistent metadata formats and containers. This makes it difficult to harness the potential of metadata to streamline and automate workflows. UMeT will extract, manipulate, and export frame-by-frame metadata from and to any known image, audio or metadata container format, synchronise multiple metadata sources, and export as a new container or bake within an audio-video file. The software will be offered as a multiplatform solution, with UI, CLI and API interfaces to facilitate its integration in existing production and post-production pipelines. CineDev is a software company founded by experienced filmmakers focused on revolutionising the current Film and TV Industry workflows via the use of metadata.
