This project is aimed at transforming the environmental impact of road transport and logistics through the development of an innovative eco-routing algorithm. Our project is a response to the urgent need to address the significant environmental challenges posed by road transport, which is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions in the UK. By enhancing our existing route optimisation algorithm, we aim to help businesses prioritise eco-friendly routes that minimise carbon emissions and optimise fuel efficiency.The project also serves to foster environmental awareness within the logistics industry. Our solution will target businesses, particularly those engaged in last-mile delivery, which has seen exponential growth and is poised to continue expanding. This growth underscores the necessity of implementing sustainable practices in the logistics sector.Our proposed solution is not only timely but aligns perfectly with the UK's goals for net zero emissions. We are leveraging modern technology to design delivery routes that are not only efficient but also environmentally friendly. We are committed to helping businesses reduce the environmental impact of their deliveries by providing up-to-date impact assessments and suggesting routes that lower emissions, improve air quality, and reduce congestion.The benefits of this project will extend beyond environmental improvements. By integrating our solution with our existing delivery management platform, we will enhance route optimisation for sustainability.
