"Deep Branch Biotechnology (DBB) transform the polluters of today into the producers of tomorrow. The DBB process converts carbon dioxide directly from industrial gas, into a sustainable and high quality alternative to current animal feed proteins (soy and fishmeal).This project will prove feasibility of the Deep Branch process on-site at Drax power station, Selby. This will translate a state of the art gas-fermentation technology from the lab bench into an industrial setting, with flue gases from the energy producing combustion of biomass being converted on site into nutritionally optimised single cell protein. This on-site technology demonstration will provide an essential platform for the progress towards commercial launch, by important validation of the process in the context of industrially derived waste streams."
