Gaming Big Data: Immersive, Gesture-Based Interactions with 3D Data Visualisations

Mentat Innovations' project is a feasibility study exploring the potential to improve human ability to extract useful insights from Big Data through gesture-based interactions with 3D data visualisations in immersive environments. The project will use a combination of wearables, computers, and software to demonstrate two potential applications of a platform for gesture based interaction with 3D data visualisations: one with structured, the other with unstructured data. One of the studies aims is to improve the user experience with Big Data by allowing for more intuitive interactions with it and by harnessing the play, discovery and reward elements that drive the popularity of video games as a form of human and machine interaction.
