英文摘要
Novel optics-based approaches for cardiac electrophysiology (NOTICE) is a two half-day free event running on August 27th and 28th at the University of Glasgow. Research into cardiac electrophysiology under healthy and pathological conditions has been transformed by light-based recording and manipulation technology. NOTICE brings together the leading proponents of novel optical techniques in cardiac electrophysiology in the UK, the European Union and North America to discuss the major technical and biophysical questions their research addresses. Experts in their field will report on current and near-future enabling optical technologies that are likely to be transformative to electrophysiology in the heart as well as cutting-edge applications and their resulting data, analysis and modelling. After three introductory talks of challenge-themed sessions, the three speakers will lead a panel-like discussion on audience questions to discuss future research directions. This workshop aims to examine not just the current successes but also discuss ongoing limitations and opportunities in this exciting and expanding field. This workshop aims to attract researchers from a broad pool of backgrounds and disciplines to exchange their unique takes and angles to tackle state-of-the-art research questions in optical tool building and developed designed to specifically answer questions in cardiac electrophysiology. The list of invited speakers is therefore drawn from a wide pool of expertise, ranging from engineering, optics, biophysics, and physiology and contains experts in concrete cardiac imaging as well as tool builders and developers of techniques which could conceivably be applied to cardiac imaging. For attendees there will be an opportunity to present a poster and or flash talk and participate in panel discussions and networking/break away sessions. One session of the event will be geared towards PhD students and early career researchers allowing them to give a short talk about current ongoing research problems aimed at attracting collaborative initiatives.
