The use of wearable technologies to examine the effect of training on bone health

This project will examine the use of wearable technologies to determine the impact rating and metabolic cost of military / physical training activities. The systems will need to give live feedback to the training team to allow for bespoke alterations to the training regimes, reduction of musculoskeletal injury and to attract maximum interest. A range of technologies will be tested and/or potential new solutions developed. The relationship between impact ratings and injury risk will be determined using prospective studies over a 12 week military training programme. Research direction will be reviewed in the context of study results and findings in research literature, in frequent dialogue with military colleagues.
