The research should be in the field of particle physics phenomenology. In particular on the application and/or development of modern analytical methods as well as computer algebraic techniques for perturbative calculations. Results of this research should be compared with current and expected experimental data. Jack should use the modern techniques for perturbative calculations as well as renormalisation theory and apply these techniques to particle physics phenomenology in and beyond the standard model. The focus should be on models that address shortcomings of the standard model such as the currently unexplained dark matter content of the universe. The modern perturbative techniques could for example be used to provide a common framework that allows the correlation of theory predictions of observables coming from different experiments or to sharpen the theory predictions for relevant observables that leads to an increased new physics reach.
