The aim of the thesis is to study the transverse momentum spectrum of the Higgs boson as measured by thhe ATLAS experiment at the LHC above 400 GeV/c. In this kinematic region production would be particularly sensitive to the impact of new, undiscovered particles which might change the rate, A discovery here would provide clues to the natrualness problem - why the Higgs mass is so different from the Planck scale.The identification of such boosted Higgs bosons will require a significant overhaul of the b-tagging techniques employed by ATLAS. These assume the b quarks decay inside the beam pipe, but at these momenta half or more produce b hadrons which traverse part of the detector before decaying. Thus significant improvements are required. At present ATLAS has made no studies of this process, of this is completely new.
