There has been a rapid rise in populist and ultra-nationalist movements across Europe in recenttimes. This research project will develop an analysis of the aesthetics used by neo-fascist organizationsin Italy. The project will focus on language, representation, iconography, and behaviour developed byneo-fascist groups within a network that includes institutional politics. The aestheticization of politicsas applied to neo-fascism will be addressed through an interdisciplinary approach which will connecthistory with studies on memory and representation as applied to past fascist regimes.
