This proposal is in the highly innovative area of using graphene in construction materials for environmental applications (rather than mechanical performance). The proposal is mainly experimental developing new composites and involves characterisation studies, laboratory testing and then potential field applications. I have been working closely with a graphene producer who has been supplying me with a range of graphene materials and solutions. However the researcher has already been producing his own graphene so he will use both sources. Field applications are likely to be in collaboration with Costain and possibly on an HS2 site. The supervisor has all the experimental facilities required for this project.
