Aims. Investigation of a particle aerosol deposition manufacturing route to develop high temperature dielectric ceramics based on alkaline earth niobates with the tungsten bronze crystal structure.Objectives. Synthesise and analyse a range of compositions of doped, fully dense CBN by aerosol deposition Characterise microstructure using electron microscopy Characterise crystal phase content using X-ray diffraction Characterise dielectric propertiesd Correlate aerosol deposition conditions to structure and properties of the deposited thick films Understand the critical parameters controlling structure and properties Use the emerging knowledge to design a process whereby dielectrics can be produced with stable relative permittivity and low dielectric loss across the temperature range -55degreesC to 250degreesC and 300degreesC.
