Financialisation & Environmental Crisis: Exploring the role of finance in driving climate change

This study will explore the relationship between financialisation and climate change. Specifically, it will examine the role of finance in driving processes of climate change, by simultaneously supporting the growth of polluting industries, while hindering that of sustainable industries. Analysis will be conducted to explore how variations in the level of financialisation across financial systems impacts climate outcomes. As yet, this relationship has barely been researched within academia. Given the significant threat posed by environmental crises, exploring this relationship offers the potential to provide valuable insights into opportunities for a sustainable future.
