This study will examine the mental health needs of children and young people (CYP) in care,the extent to which these needs are being met, and the effect of multiple placements onmental health interventions, informed by a mixed-methods study design.The project will demonstrate what mental health services are currently available to CYP incare and the importance of consistency in treatment across multiple placements. The findingswill be particularly valuable to social care and mental health professionals, and to the CYPthemselves, due to the growing importance being placed on mental health and well-being. Areport summarising the results will be shared with CYP and social care staff involved in theproject. Findings will be disseminated through publications, conference presentations andinternal seminars.
