The long-term labour market impacts of local economic shocks

I have carried out some initial research looking into the long-term impacts of deindustrialisation on local labour markets inaggregate, and broadly found some persistent impacts even 30 years after the initial shock. This has relevance to currentpolicy debates around levelling-up and improving economic performance in areas impacted by locally concentratedlabour market shocks. However, using individual level panel data this can be greatly improved upon, and the use ofinstruments for the labour market shocks could also be improved to ensure that labour market shocks are notendogenous. I am interested therefore in further exploring this topic and research area
