英文摘要
Amidst the turmoil of climate change, this project provides a revaluation of ecological art in the 1960/70sUS counterculture. Building on research into the cultural output of the counterculture, this research willconsider notions of 'systems ecology' and eco-art such as the Harrisons' Survival Pieces and Bonnie OraSherk's Crossroads Community, alongside contemporary posthuman philosophy which challengesdominant political and epistemological environmental discourse. This project focuses on education andcommunity activism, considering how countercultural eco-art intersected with wider political and protestmovements in order to reimagine and reshape modern society. Exploring the political, social, andphilosophical implications of community education in eco-art will allow for reconsiderations ofenvironmentalism's relation to capitalism, settler-colonialism, and the contested notions of 'human' and'nature' - questions essential to building futures beyond ecological catastrophe.
