It is proposed to perform wind tunnel experiments using advanced flow diagnosticmethods to obtain high-fidelity experimental data, in order to implement deep learning algorithmsand develop new data driven RANS and LES models. This work would be a great improvementfrom the point of view of understanding turbulent flow over rough and porous surfaces, whichwould benefit greatly from this analytical capacity. Furthermore, applying advanced technologiesand demonstrating that they are useful in dealing with the most complex problems may be a trendthat many researchers will follow.
