英文摘要
This project investigates the contribution made by Birgit Skjold to printmaking in Britain between 1958 and 1982.Included is a critical analysis of Skjold's innovative use of intaglio processes, combined with photo-imagery and lithography in the edition prints and artist's books, also her interest in Japanese culture, and deployment of abstract nature motifs.Skjold's pioneering role in running Print Workshop, Charlotte Street (1958- 1982) and her involvement in promoting printmaking activity in Britain are also considered. The project includes a complete description of Skjold's output of single prints based on extensive holdings in public and private collections in Britain.
