项目摘要

本研究では、神聖ローマ皇帝ルドルフ2世のプラハ宮廷における版画受容のされ方がいかに北方版画制作に影響したかを、宮廷での版画の受容方法と機能を読み解くことで明らかにする。この研究においては、皇帝が版画の刷りと原版の双方を収集していたという実情にもとづき、刷りと原版の二側面から宮廷での北方版画受容の様相と版画が持ちえた役割を調査する。本年度も、前年度までに引き続き、ルドルフ2世が版画家に対して発行した印刷特認権の研究を進めている。前年度はそれらの印刷特認権のリスト化と翻訳を行い、史料翻訳としてまとめたが、本年度もその研究を推し進め、印刷特認権を得た版画家の目録を拡充したうえで、神聖ローマ帝国内で流通した書物に対する印刷特認権と比較しつつ、版画に対する印刷特認権の特徴と効果について考察している。これについては、非公式の研究会にて口頭発表を行った。その際の意見交換の結果、今後は一次資料のテクストのみならず、具体的な版画の原版やその刷りの調査を通じて、版画家にとっての印刷特認権の重要性がどこにあったのかという点を考察しつつ研究を進めることにした。その具体的な版画の原版の一例として、版画家ヘンドリック・ホルツィウスの《ケレスとバッカスいなければウェヌスが凍える》（1595年、ウィーン、美術史美術館）がある。これは通常の銅製の原版ではなく、銀製という特殊な貴金属製原版である。原版には「1595年」の年記が刻まれているが、この年にホルツィウスがルドルフ2世より印刷特認権を得ており、それを機に銀製の原版が制作され、同皇帝に献上されたという説がある。本作品の研究は当初より予定しており、プラハ宮廷における原版の受容や素材に注目した作品研究を行う予定であったが、そこに印刷特認権の調査結果をくわえて研究を進めている。この原版の研究成果については、翌年度前半での口頭発表を予定している。
